PRIM luxury watches are part of a long history of fine vintage watch making begun in the mid-1800's, with watches manufactured in the town of Broumov, Prim's current headquarters since 1889. The PRIM name was created in 1949. For over sixty years, we've been producing watches distinguished by their quality, reliability, and expert design. Customers know owning a PRIM vintage watch means owning a part of Czech watchmaking tradition and history. In fact, PRIM has created over sixteen million watches for satisfied customers around the world.
Our mid-20th century mass production of quality watches changed with world market needs. By the end of the century, we recognized a demand for high-end, custom luxury watches, and altered our manufacturing to reflect this need. Today, PRIM creates a limited number of distinctive luxury watches, about 5,000 per year.
Beginning in 2011, PRIM established a strong influence in the world market, with divisions in North America, Japan, and South America responding to customer demand for high-end custom watches. It's not only the Swiss known for fine watchmaking, as PRIM is proving the viability of the Czech vintage watch making tradition.
Our hand-crafted watch movements are based on a tradition of old world craftsmanship that dates back to the Prague Astronomical Clock, also known as the famous Prague "Orloj." Created in 1410, this clock is still telling time with its original watch movements. Upholding this tradition of long lasting quality, each of ours 200 or more movement parts are made on site.After all, PRIM is devoted to creating the highest quality, eminently reliable watches exuding luxury and sophistication.
